Here are the two principles which have resulted in this Homeless Crisis among other social ills such as the flight of businesses and Millennials from Los Angeles: (1) Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely, and (2) corruption destroys. California judicial system is corrupt from the very top to the very bottom and has made certain that corruption at the local and state level has thrived. As a result all Californians, but especially those in the urban areas like Los Angeles and San Francisco, have been getting poorer while the wealth flows to the one percent with a lot of cash sticking to the hands of irredeemably corrupt judicial officers such as the former California Supreme Court Justice Tani Gorre Cantil-Sakauye.

One on-going problem has been the destruction of tens of thousands of rent controlled units so that developers would buy up the cheapest properties for their new projects. Other gigantic housing fraud such as Spot Zoning has driven up the cost of R-1 housing so that hundreds of billions of dollars flows to Wall Street due to families carrying an extra $500K to $1M in mortgages. Rents similarly are outrageous as apartment owners have huge mortgages. So much money has gone to wall Street just due to the court-enforced corruption in the housing market, that we lack the funds to provide proper social services at the same time we are destroying neighborhoods and making tens of thousands of people homeless.

Everyone is a victim of the judicial corruption. One huge example is the famous atty Thomas Girardi who stole hundreds of millions of dollars from his clients. He won his cases by bribing judges, but the judges were so greedy that Girardi, who was also an avaricious vulture, paid the bribes from the money which should have gone to his injured clients rather than from the atty fees from his cases. There were 205 state bar complaints just against Girardi, excluding his cronies who also had multiple state bar complaints, and California Supreme Court Justice Tani Gorre Cantil-Sakauye blocked every single case so that none of the cheated clients saw one cent. As head of the Commission of Judicial Performance, California Supreme Court Justice Tani Gorre Cantil-Sakauye also made certain not no corrupt judge was exposed. Attorneys who complained about corruption, however, were disbarred. The above is barely 1% of the judicial corruption which protects all the other vile predators in the state.

California which is the wealthiest state is also the state with the most abject poor, worse than Mississippi and Alabama. Anyone who thinks anything will improve is clueless about what is happening.

The pattern seems to be that everything California administrators recommend to fix the problem only makes it worse. At this point it seems sensible to consider going the opposite direction on everything they advocate; hard to imagine producing a worse outcome.

Good job, Adam.

You explained the problem clearly and accurately and proposed a common sense solution. We should commit more of the folks that are slowly killing themselves because of mental illness or drug addiction.
